Tributes have come in for a passionate Red who played a key role in helping organise the Liverpool/Borussia Moenchengladbach friendship visits.

Rob Stott sadly passed away last week, aged 62, and members of the Borussia Moenchengladbach supporters club and German Reds LFC supporters Club (AIB) are in deep shock at this very sad news.

Rob leaves behind his partner Joy, son Graham, daughter Debbie, daughter-in-law Nicola and two wonderful grandchildren.

Branch Secretary of the German Reds official supporters club Graham Agg said: "Rob Stott was an absolute fantastic ambassador for not just Liverpool FC, but also for the City of Liverpool.

"I can honestly say that Rob gave me more help in organising/planning that annual Liverpool FC supporters friendship visits to Moenchengladbach than anyone else and was the life and soul of the party during the trip's to Germany.

"He also was a fantastic help to me in welcoming German Reds members to Liverpool and Anfield for every home match during the last few years.

"He has supported Liverpool Football Club since 1955, from the age of five and hardly ever missed a home match during that time.

"When he was just a teenager, he even wrote to the legendary Bill Shankly with suggestions on team selection!  Amazingly he received a hand written letter reply from the great man which he had shown me and had treasured his whole life.

"Members of the Borussia moenchengladbach supporters club and German Reds LFC supporters Club (AIB) members are in deep shock at this very sad news.

"The friendship visits to Moenchengladbach will not be the same without Rob and he will never be forgotten by me or my family, the German Reds Members who had the pleasure to have met him, and the people who travel regularly each year to Germany."

This special Friendship between supporters of Liverpool FC and Borussia Moenchengladbach started in 1991 when a delegation of Borussia Moenchengladbach supporters flew to Liverpool to present a cheque for 21,000 Deutsch Marks (approximately £7000) to the families of the Hillsborough disaster - an amazing gesture that has never been forgotten on Merseyside.
