A late Jordan Lussey free kick earned Liverpool U18s a deserved share of the spoils against Academy league leaders Manchester City this morning.

The Reds fell behind to an 8th minute header from Dominic McHale and goalkeeper Tyrell Belford kept Mike Marsh's charges in the game with a superb penalty save to deny Albert Rusnak.

Marsh made a double switch after the break, introducing Adam Morgan and Jordan Ibe and the changes had the desired effect as Liverpool took the game to their visitors in the second period.

Morgan saw a penalty saved by Angus Gunn and Ryan McLaughlin struck the post before Lussey curled home a left wing free kick with just three minutes remaining to earn the young Reds a deserved point.
