Gerrard: Wembley talk is banned
Steven Gerrard insists any talk of playing at Wembley is banned in the Anfield dressing room.
The Reds take a 1-0 lead into the deciding leg of our Carling Cup semi-final with Manchester City on Wednesday.
If Liverpool do progress they will play at Wembley for the first time since 1996 - but Gerrard isn't looking beyond the 90 minutes against Roberto Mancini's league leaders.
"It (Wembley talk) has got to be banned because we haven't made it there yet," Gerrard told the Official Matchday Programme.
"Of course it enters your mind and you dream about it. That helps when it comes to motivation, but I don't think any of our players will be getting carried away or thinking we've already done the job. We know this is a big game and a tough game."
Gerrard thinks the experience Liverpool have gained of two-legged contests in the Champions League over the last few years could be crucial against City.
"I think experience is important, it always is," he said. "Especially when you have a lead in such an important two-legged fixture.
"We need to play to our maximum. We need every player to turn up and play well to qualify. We need to ignore the scoreline and go into this game trying to win it.
"I think if we're too negative and try to just protect the lead it could be very dangerous."
