The Opta statistics from Liverpool's clash at Molineux on Tuesday night revealed exactly how the Reds were the dominant force, especially in attack where they fired in four times the amount of shots than Wolves did.

Kenny's men had 24 efforts, 13 of which were on target, while their opponents tried their luck six times and only one of those troubled Pepe Reina. Half of Liverpool's shots were from outside the box.

Wolves' Steven Fletcher, who spearheaded their attack for 90 minutes, managed just one attempt on goal whereas Craig Bellamy and Andy Carroll took 13 shots between them.

Overall, Liverpool's shot accuracy was three times better than their opponents' (61.9 per cent to Wolves' 20 per cent).

An in terms of the goalkeepers, Wayne Hennessey had a far more busy night than his Spanish counterpart. The Welshman was called into action on 10 occasions, saving 76.9 per cent of those efforts. Reina had just one stop to make which he kept out.

Of all the players who stayed on the pitch for the full game, Liverpool's Jose Enrique was the most accurate passer with a 94.2 per cent completion rate. Bellamy was the Reds' second best with a 92 per cent.

Jay Spearing played more balls than any other player in a red shirt on the night (68) but opponent Kevin Foley edged overall him with 70 passes. Of all our midfielders, Jordan Henderson proved to be the most precise when it came to picking out a Liverpool teammate (with an accuracy rate of 88.9 per cent).

In all, Liverpool hit 558 balls, 12.7 per cent of which were long. Wolves, on the other hand, played 493 and 13.4 per cent of those were sent high up the field.

Defensively, there was little to separate the sides in terms of 'duels' won, but Liverpool were the better of the two.  The away side came out on top in 58.3 per cent of the 'duels' and dominated in the air, winning 63 per cent of aerial battles.

Jose Enrique made five challenges throughout the 90 minutes and won every single one, while Daniel Agger was solid in the air out-jumping his opponents every time to win 100 per cent of the individual aerial 'duels'.

Meanwhile, Martin Skrtel and Glen Johnson also emerged victorious from 100 per cent of their tackles.

Both sides made a total of 20 challenges each, however, the away side won 85 per cent of their battles while Wolves came out on top in 65 per cent.

For the home side, David Edwards conceded more fouls than any player on the pitch but Liverpool received three yellow cards to Wolves' one (they were given to Charlie Adam, Bellamy and Agger).
