Dirk reveals top goal
Dirk Kuyt has reflected on scoring his 50th league goal against Wolves – and revealed the strike he considers to be his best.
The Dutch international has hit dramatic late winners against the likes of Everton and Manchester City, and also netted a first ever hat-trick for the club against Manchester United last season.
One league strike, though, stands out for the man himself.
"There are many nice goals I have scored for Liverpool - especially the winner against Everton and the hat-trick against Manchester United, but one goal I particularly like was the home game against Chelsea.
"Peter Crouch flicked the ball on and I fired it past Petr Cech. That was a great goal, but at the end of the day I'm very proud of all the goals I've scored for this club.
"It's great to achieve 50 goals for this club in the Premier League.
"Not many people have done that at this club and also from my country not many people have done that, so to reach that target is great.
"I had to wait a while for it but I knew it was coming and I just kept working hard."
Clinching his half century in midweek capped a perfect few days for the No.18 after his dramatic FA Cup winner against Manchester United.
He added: "It was great to score the winner v Manchester United in front of the Kop.
"It was very special to get a hat-trick against them last season but the one last Saturday felt even better, because it was two minutes before the end of the game and it was the winner.
"It was great to beat them and it gave the team an enormous boost. I thought we deserved to win that game and then the team performance against Wolves was very good.
"Three different people scored, we played some good football and that's the way we want to go forward and the way we want to play."
