Adam Morgan scored twice as Liverpool U18s took the derby spoils with a 3-1 win over Everton.

Jack Dunn fired the Reds ahead with a stinging drive from 25 yards but the Blues levelled just before half-time with a strike from Gethan Jones.

Seconds after the restart Morgan put the Reds back in front when he rounded the 'keeper and found the net. The No.9 then made it 3-1 after superb play down the right by Jordan Ibe.

Kevin Sheedy's Everton ended the game with 10 men after John Lundstram was shown his marching orders for a late challenge on the lively Ibe.

Morgan had the chance of a hat-trick but had a penalty saved by the outstanding Connor Roberts.

Trialist Sam Magri, from Portsmouth, played the full 90 minutes at centre back while Spanish forward Nacho made his U18s debut as a second half substitute marking his return from injury.

Liverpool team: Belford, McLaughlin (Hatch), Regan, Rafferty, Magri, Baio, Ibe, Dunn (Mukendi), Morgan, Peterson (Nacho), Lussey. Unused subs: Ward, Sokolik.
