Liverpool's Boot Room was always a place where special relationships were cemented and yesterday two couples continued the proud tradition.

As leap-year marriage proposals were being made across the country, two women took the opportunity to do so at Liverpool FC's newly-opened Boot Room cafe in Cheshire Oaks.

And one proposal featured a special footballing twist.

Jaime West popped the question to her partner Peter Sinnott by having the words 'Marry Me' printed on the back of her black Liverpool away shirt above the number 2013.

The couple, from Buckley, North Wales, have been avid Reds fans for five years.

Around the same time, Phil Broadbent and Margeret Shaw were sat at the Boot Room bar. They have been together for 10 years and yesterday lunchtime Margeret took the opportunity to propose.

But while the pair are both die-hard Reds, Margeret's son is an Evertonian, so the couple found themselves in something of a predicament when it came to explaining to him exactly where the proposal took place!
