We are delighted to announce that a sportsman's dinner will take place on Wednesday, April 18 at Anfield to celebrate the playing career of the club's German legend Didi Hamann.

'The Kaiser', who arrived at Anfield from Newcastle in 1999, instantly fell in love with Liverpool the club, the city and its people.

Over the seven years that followed, the talented holding midfielder became as famed for his style and composure on the pitch as for his wit and character off it.

Hamann played his part in the treble of 2001, the League Cup success of 2003, picked up an FA Cup winners' medal in 2006 and, of course, made a decisive appearance in the Reds' Champions League triumph of 2005.

And now LFC are offering fans a special chance to hear first hand the stories behind the legend - including how the German scored a penalty at the Ataturk Stadium with a broken toe.

Guests can enjoy a delicious four-course evening meal as football impressionist Darren Farley is joined by LFC TV presenter Peter McDowall. Then there's an exclusive after-dinner question and answer session with the guest of honour, Hamann.

Tickets are £99 per person and it promises to be an unforgettable night, so make sure you don't miss out. To book now call, 0151 263 7744 or email events@liverpoolfc.tv.
