Reds backing Sport Relief
Liverpool Football Club are backing Sport Relief 2012 - and we're encouraging fans to do the same in the UK's biggest year of sport.
Sport Relief runs from March 23 to 25 and over one million men, women and children across the country are expected to pull their socks up and take part in a Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile.
You can play your part in the Liverpool Mile, which will take place at the city's Echo Arena and Conference Centre in Liverpool on Sunday.
Don't worry if you're not an experienced runner, there's something for everyone with a choice of tackling one, three or six miles and plenty of other entertainment on offer.
The official Sport Relief Socks and T-shirts are the perfect gear to wear as you go the extra mile, or Reds fans can also wear their Liverpool jerseys with pride as they break sweat for a fantastic cause.
Our Spanish full-back Jose Enrique is eager for fans to take and help raise money for good causes.
He said: "Please enter the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile today - the money you raise by getting sponsored will help poor and disadvantaged people here in Liverpool, across the UK and in the world's poorest countries.
"It doesn't matter whether you do one, three or six miles, whether you do it with your mates, against the clock or as a family team - just make sure you are at that start line on Sunday, March 25, have a fantastic day and most importantly raise some serious cash by getting sponsored."
Over the past 10 years, Sport Relief has raised a staggering £124 million which has transformed lives for some of the most vulnerable people living right here in the UK and across the world's poorest countries. By taking part you will be raising cash to help people who live unimaginably tough lives every day.
Liverpool have already shown their support for Sport Relief by wearing t-shirts backing the campaign prior to the recent Merseyside derby at Anfield.
Meanwhile, Glen Johnson recently took part in an 'Omelette Challenge' with fellow England internationals Rob Green, Theo Walcott and Scott Parker - the results of which can been seen from 7pm on Sport Relief on BBC One on Friday night.
