U18s edged out in thriller
An experimental Liverpool U18s side lost 4-3 to West Bromwich Albion in a seven-goal thriller at the Academy on Saturday morning.
With six of his first choice XI on duty in the NextGen Series play-off tie with Marseille, Marsh gave five youngsters their debut.
Henoc Mukendi scored twice and Jordan Lussey was also on target for Liverpool.
The Baggies made a storming start and were 2-0 up in the opening 10 minutes but the Reds came back to 2-2 before half-time.
Marsh's charges then took a 3-2 lead but they couldn't hold on and the Baggies came back to win with a late winner.
Marsh told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It was a game we shouldn't have lost but considering the personnel we had out there it was a fantastic performance from the lads.
"We played some really good football at times and we were unlucky not to get anything out of the game.
"I had three U15s in the starting line-up and a few more on the bench and they did well."
Liverpool U18s team: Stephens, Quirk, McGuire, Wilson, Sokolik, Burke (Rossiter), Gainford (Donegan), Mukendi, Sinclair, Nacho, Lussey.
Marsh's side are back in action next Saturday when they entertain Huddersfield Town at the Academy - a game you can watch exclusively live on LFC TV and LFC TV Online.
