Carling Cup final ticket feedback
Following our Carling Cup final success a number of fans have asked why the Club didn't split the Season Ticket sale for the final over more days so that supporters didn't have to queue for so long.
The reason was because in planning for the Carling Cup final we went back over the last few cup finals we have been involved in to see what we did well and what didn't go quite so well. One of the main areas for discussion was how we sell to Season Ticket holders.
In previous finals we have sold to this group based on where they sit, so Kop together and Main Stand on another day. This was the main cause of complaint at previous finals as supporters have friends and family in other stands that they wish to sit with. From working with the Supporters' Committee it also became apparent that this is one of the main reasons that Season Ticket holders decide not to join the Auto Cup Scheme as well.
With all of this in mind, we gave Season Ticket holders two full days to purchase for the final, where possible we told them that they were guaranteed a ticket and finally we ensured that tickets at every price point were available on all of the sale days (not just the Season Ticket sale) to ensure maximum choice for all fans.
We also encouraged all supporters to use the other channels open to them in terms of buying tickets, including online and via the phone to avoid queuing.
It is the club's intention to sell future cup games in a similar way and we will continue to work with the Supporters' Committee in advance of, during and after the sales to ensure that the maximum learning can be taken from each sale.
