"The prospect of playing a big game between two great Premier League clubs on American soil is one that I'm sure will excite lots of our fans because nothing beats watching the team live. We'll work closely with our main sponsor Standard Chartered and our other partners in the region to put together a fantastic tour schedule which will hopefully see us engage with as many fans as possible."
Gavin Laws, Group Head of Corporate Affairs at Standard Chartered, said: "It's great news that the Club has confirmed the second match of its North America tour against Tottenham. Coming so soon after the announcement of the AS Roma game in Boston, this is shaping up to be a really exciting tour. Everyone at Standard Chartered is looking forward to another fantastic summer of football."
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is also looking forward to an all-English clash in the States this summer.
"Taking on Liverpool on US soil will be a great experience and one that I'm sure will really appeal to our fans," he said. "Both clubs have a fantastic heritage and matches between the two teams have a history of being exciting, hard fought and high scoring affairs. I expect this to be no different."
