March Fan of the Month revealed
Having passionately supported the Reds for over 80 years, Runcorn based Raymond Gandy has today been voted the Standard Chartered Fan of the Month for March.
Nominated by his friend Liam Nevin and described as 'a truly remarkable fellow', Raymond's dedication to the Liverpool FC cause over many decades won the backing of our judging panel.
Nominated by his friend Liam Nevin and described as 'a truly remarkable fellow', Raymond's dedication to the Liverpool FC cause over many decades won the backing of our judging panel.
"He has followed Liverpool FC since he was walking (over 80 years)," says Liam. "He doesn't miss a single game or an opportunity to talk about the club he loves. Although a lot of Runcorn has turned to the dark side (United) he has fought on and even at his age he is still proud to wear his red Billy Liddell shirt and tells the best stories of times gone by at Anfield."
Raymond beat off tough competition for our final Fan of the Month award this season.
Kop legend Ian Rush said: "It's great to hear that Raymond will not miss a single LFC game even at the age of 80. I hope he continues to tell his great Anfield stories of yesteryear!"
Gavin Laws from Standard Chartered added: "Raymond deserves the award because a lifetime of dedication should be recognised."
On behalf of everybody at Liverpool Football Club and Standard Chartered we'd like to congratulate Raymond on being named the Fan of the Month for March.
Raymond is our seventh monthly winner this season and will now join our other six winners in the race to be crowned the first ever Standard Chartered Fan of the Season.
