Earlier this season Liverpool won 2-0 at Villa Park, scoring both goals in the opening 15 minutes with strikes from Craig Bellamy and Martin Skrtel.

Since the inception of the Premier League, Liverpool have won 21 meetings and Villa 10, with the other eight being drawn.

Stewart Downing's final goal for Aston Villa came on the final day of last season against Liverpool at Villa Park. It is his last Premier League goal.

Home and away, Liverpool have lost twice in the last 20 meetings.

Liverpool have scored 17 goals in the last six home games against Aston Villa.

In Liverpool's last home game, Raheem Sterling made his debut to become the third youngest recorded player in the club's history aged 17 years 107 days. Only Jack Robinson (16 years 250 days -2010) and John McFarlane (17 years 47 days - 1929) were younger when they made their bow.

Craig Bellamy could make his 50th league appearance for Liverpool.

Jose Enrique could play his 150th league game in English football - 119 of those with Newcastle.

This will be the 50th league game of Kenny's second spell in charge of the Reds. He has won 21 and drawn 12 of the previous 49.

Whichever goalkeeper the Reds employ today, he will be the 14th regular 'keeper to appear between the sticks for the club in the Premier League. It brings to an end Pepe Reina's run of 183 games and 16,463 minutes in succession in the league.

Reina last missed a league game for Liverpool on the final day of the 2006-07 season when he was rested ahead of the Champions League final. The Reds were held 2-2 by Charlton.

Jamie Carragher, with 25, has made more appearances against Villa than any player in the Reds' history.

Villa have not kept a clean sheet in the last 11 league visits to Anfield.

They have won four of the last 32 games at Anfield dating back to 1977-78.

Villa's biggest League win over Liverpool at Anfield came in November 1914 when they won 6-3.

Should they score two goals today Villa will record 250 in league football against Liverpool.

Alex McLeish and Kenny Dalglish appeared together 23 times for Scotland and were teammates at the 1982 World Cup finals. In total, Kenny played 102 times for his country (a record) while McLeish won 77 caps.
