Pics: Derbies at Wembley 1989
Completing our pictorial look back at Liverpool and Everton's previous Wembley meetings, we go back to the FA Cup final of 1989.
It was an emotional occasion that will live long in the memory as Reds and Blues poignantly came together in the aftermath of Hillsborough.
Gerry Marsden delivered a moving rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' prior to kick-off before John Aldridge gave Liverpool an early lead. However, with virtually the last kick of the game, Stewart McCall equalised to force extra time.
But Ian Rush once again came to the fore against the Blues, netting twice to render another McCall effort meaningless and secure a 3-2 win for Liverpool.
