Liverpool Ladies registered their first point of the season after being held to a 2-2 draw by Chelsea.

Despite leading 2-0 after half an hour of play, the Reds were pegged back by the home side and forced to settle for a draw in Staines.

Kelly Jones fired them ahead, stepping up to slot home a penalty after a cross from skipper Vicky Jones struck Chelsea's Katie Sherwood on the hand.

Liverpool's second came as a result of some fine link-up play between Katie Brusell and Jones. The latter then picked out Hannah Keryakoplis, who shot past Carly Telford from 15 yards.

However, on 34 minutes, the home side halved Liverpool's lead. Helen Lander capped a swift counter attack with a weighted lob.

And then six minutes after the restart, Chelsea levelled proceedings as Dani Buet curled a free-kick into the top corner for 2-2.
