Rodolfo Borrell's reserves have played some sparkling football at times in 2011-12 but which player stood out for you? Cast your vote now online.

The squad ended their Academy season on Monday with a 2-1 home defeat by Newcastle United which brought to an end a superb run of nine unbeaten league games.

Despite the loss Borrell's charges are still favourites to finish second in the Barclays Premier Reserve League North. For Everton to finish ahead of them they would need to beat Arsenal 8-0 in their final game.

The team also finished third in the first season of the NextGen Series and will compete in the U19 European competition once again next season.

The LFC TV cameras have shown the majority of the games live and viewers have been entertained by some of the club's most talented youngsters.

Ryan McLaughlin arrived from Northern Ireland last summer and has enjoyed a very encouraging season at right-back. Raheem Sterling and Suso have again caught the eye while Conor Coady and Andre Wisdom have been very consistant performers.

Jack Robinson played a number of games in the second part of the campaign and showed his undoubted talent at left-back, while Nathan Eccleston finished top scorer with eight goals.

The second-half comeback against Manchester United, when Borrell's team fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with the Barclays Premier Reserve League North champions, was very encouraging.

Away draws against Bolton and Everton also stand out as both opposition teams fielded a strong XI and the young Reds more than matched them.

A 4-1 win away at Aston Villa was also memorable and how about the 3-1 win over Chelsea in Kirkby when Conor Coady scored a superb goal?
