New shirt logo for Chelsea game
The Liverpool players will be sporting a new logo on their shirts for the final home game of the season against Chelsea tomorrow night, to help raise awareness about avoidable blindness
Replacing the usual Standard Chartered logo will be 'Seeing is Believing' - our main sponsor's global initiative that raises funds to tackle avoidable blindness in developing countries.
You can win or bid for one of these limited edition shirts and all proceeds will go to Seeing is Believing. Standard Chartered also matches every donation so the winning bids will go even further to helping people to see. Find out how to enter>>
Seeing is Believing has raised over USD40 million with an ambition to raise USD100 million by 2020.
"It's in our power to eliminate 80% of blindness. However, 39 million people around the world remain blind. Helping individuals to see again transforms not just their own lives but also the lives of all those around them. Restoring someone's sight gives them economic independence and frees them from a life of dependence.
Standard Chartered, through Seeing is Believing, is committed to continuing the fight against avoidable blindness. By 2020, we intend to raise a further USD60 million to further extend access to eye-care to many more people across our footprint in Asia, Africa and the Middle East," explains Richard Meddings, Standard Chartered Group Finance Director and Chairman of Seeing is Believing.
2.8 million people who were blind can now see, thanks to Seeing is Believing. That's a large number of people who can now interact with their family, community and go back to work or stay in school.
