Roy Hodgson is set for talks with the FA today over becoming the next England manager.

The former Liverpool boss is the only man to have been approached by the governing body to replace Fabio Capello.

FA chairman David Bernstein said: "Roy is the only manager we have approached and we remain on course to make an appointment within the timescale we set out."

Since leaving Anfield in January 2010, Hodgson guided West Brom away from a relegation battle before overseeing a mid-table finish for the Baggies this term.

He would not be new to international football having led Finland, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.
