Flanno inspires Childwall youngsters
The Liverpool philosophy of pass and move was very much evident at King David School in Childwall as Reds star Jon Flanagan took part in a coaching session with the kids at an LFC Equality 4 All event.
The right-back signed autographs for every child as he gave his support to the LFC community team.
Flanagan was joined by LFC Ladies goalkeeper Aroon Clansey as they helped kids develop their passing skills.
Over 60 youngsters took part in the session under quality supervised tuition from Liverpool FC community coaches.
Flanagan told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It's always a pleasure to come down and meet the kids. I enjoyed the session and it's good to give the kids a chance to show what they can do.
"It's great to see the work the club do in the community and the coaches are really good with the kids.
"It was good to teach them the Liverpool way of pass and move. When I was growing up we just played football in the streets and this is a great opportunity for the kids to get some good coaching in really good facilities."
Liverpool FC Social Inclusion Officer Rishi Jain said: "It was great to have Jon Flanagan come down and join in a football session with the kids and they were delighted to see him.
"Jon was brilliant with the kids and they enjoyed improving their passing skills with him.
"Through the Equality 4 All Project we deliver around 16 hours coaching a week with kids from different areas and ethnic minorities and bring them all together through football.
"We are out coaching every night of the week throughout Liverpool and we are really pleased with the way the Equality 4 All project has been received."
LFC Ladies stopper Aroon Clansey, who moved recently from New Zealand, added: "It's good to come down and help the kids out and see how much they enjoy it.
"I've been here for three months now and I'm really enjoying living in Liverpool. It's fantastic to see the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at the club."
