KD: Luis is an all-rounder
Kenny Dalglish today praised the all-round contribution of Luis Suarez after the Uruguayan scored a special treble at Carrow Road on Saturday.
The hat-trick took his goal-scoring tally to 17 for the season and the third strike - a spectacular lob from 50 yards - was the forward's seventh goal in eight games.
And ahead of tonight's clash with Fulham, Dalglish insisted Suarez's knack of producing something magical in each game he plays is a skill that should be appreciated just as much as the Uruguayan's ability to hit the back of the net.
"It's not just goals you assess a striker's quality of performance by," Dalglish told the Liverpool Echo. "Even when Luis hasn't scored he's always done something in the game which has been of benefit to us.
"Something that you'd think 'whoah!'
"The goals are always going to be important for us as a team and for him as an individual because you get a lot of satisfaction from scoring, but his performances have been good as well."
Three sumptuous strikes from Suarez sunk the Canaries and Dalglish, no stranger to scoring wonderful goals himself, hailed the brilliance and variety of each of the efforts.
"His goals on Saturday weren't from clear-cut chances," explained the manager. "His first he rapped with his left foot and he crashed the second with the outside of his right foot, they were two really good finishes.
"It is just pleasing that they get their reward for what they have done because there have been games when they have played better than that and not got what they have deserved.
"They have kept their belief and had a few good results away from home."
