Blake to lead Reds out at Wembley
Eight-year-old Blake MacRae is set to walk out with Liverpool at Wembley this weekend – and it's all thanks to his sister.
Blake was treated for a rare cancer which only affects children last year and underwent chemotherapy in London, so when his seven year old sister Lily – an LFC Official Junior Member like her brother – was randomly selected as our Cup final mascot, she asked if she could pass the opportunity to her brother.
She said: "I thought it would be really good fun, but as Blake has been so ill I think he deserves it more than me."
We thought this was a fantastic gesture and now look forward to welcoming Lily, Blake and their family – including 10-year-old Rory who is also an LFC Junior Member - to the Cup final.
On the day, Blake will meet the players, with the chance for photos and autographs, before lining up in the tunnel with the team and stepping out onto the Wembley pitch.
Photos will be taken throughout the day and Blake will be interviewed by LFC TV.
We would also like to send our best wishes to Blake and hope for a full recovery. YNWA.
