Andy Carroll admitted he was delighted to help the team to a 4-1 win over Chelsea and dedicated the victory to the fans for their fantastic support in 2011-12.

Although the No.9 didn't get on the scoresheet, the Carlsberg Man of the Match was a constant menace to John Terry and the Chelsea defence found him a tough target to handle.

"I thought we did really well and it was a great feeling to beat Chelsea in front of our supporters for the final time at Anfield this season," said Carroll.

"To score four goals was great and we could have got more as well.

"It was important for us to get the win and send our fans home happy."

Carroll also paid tribute to the outstanding work by Luis Suarez for the opening goal which ended up with Michael Essien diverting the ball into his own net.

He added: "Luis does that every time in training and he is unbelievable."
