In-form Andy eyes Euro berth
Andy Carroll is hoping his excellent recent form in a red shirt might be enough to secure a place in Roy Hodgson's England squad for Euro 2012.
However, his first priority remains in helping Liverpool secure three points in their final game of 2011-12 at Swansea City on Sunday.
The No.9 produced a Man of the Match display during the 4-1 win over Chelsea in midweek and he is now hoping to end the domestic campaign on a high with a victory at Swansea City on Sunday.
Carroll said: "It would be nice to go to the Euros but we will have to see what happens at the end of the season. I'm just thinking about the one game we’ve got left at Swansea."
"I'm enjoying it. I think you can see that and I've been enjoying my football for a while now.
"I didn't get a goal but we got the three points and a great win in our last home game of the season.
"All the lads are enjoying it and we have all stuck together. Putting four past Chelsea shows that.
"If we can win at Swansea at the weekend the season will finish on a good run for us.
"I've always been confident of playing well. I just felt I needed a little bit of a run. In training I've been enjoying it and doing well."
Carroll also expressed his gratitude for manager Kenny Dalglish who has backed the striker through good times and the bad.
He added: "Kenny has obviously shown a lot of faith in me," added Carroll.
"I haven't had the greatest season but he has stuck by me and defended me.
"He has encouraged me a lot. I'm confident of doing well all the time."
The striker also dedicated the midweek victory over Chelsea to the supporters as the Reds produced a fine display in their final home game of the campaign.
"The fans were great," he said.
"After losing at the weekend I didn’t know what it was going to be like. But from the minute we kicked off they were fantastic.
"It felt great listening to them singing my name. I can't wait until next season now.
"I'm confident every time I step on that pitch and I think I've shown that in the last couple of games."
