Jose Enrique believes Luis Suarez's abilities rank him amongst football's elite– and is backing the Uruguayan to enjoy even more success in front of goal next season.

The 25-year-old has netted 17 times this season, with seven of those coming in his last 10 appearances - and Enrique feels such form demonstrates Suarez is a world-class talent.

"You only have to see Luis's finishing in the Norwich games to see how good he can be," he said.

"I said to him after the game 'Luis you deserve more goals this season'. He said 'Maybe that will change next season'.

"He's right at the top in the world. As Stevie says - he's amazing. He makes a lot of chances himself.

"He makes a lot of chances himself. From nothing, he can do something. He is really, really important to us."

Though he didn't find the back of the net, Suarez was again in excellent form as Liverpool beat Chelsea 4-1 at Anfield on Tuesday night in the final home game of 2011-12.

The Reds were in rampant mood as they gained a degree a revenge for last weekend's FA Cup final defeat against the Londoners - and the scoreline could have been more emphatic had they not struck the woodwork twice.

It wasn't the first time Kenny Dalglish's side have been frustrated by the frame of the goal this term, but Enrique feels Liverpool can draw some positives from it.

"To hit the crossbar and the post so many times and miss a few penalties as well, it shows that we are creating lots of chances," he said. "It is the role of everybody to score goals, though, not just the forwards.

"It looks like an excuse because everyone says the same but it would be more worrying if we weren't shooting or creating the opportunity to shoot.

"Against many, many teams we might have scored earlier and the game changes and we win the points."
