Help Chris reach his charity goal
Liverpool FC physiotherapist Chris Morgan is running the Great Manchester Run just four days before completing a gruelling Coast to Coast cycle in order to raise money for The Christie – Europe's largest cancer centre.
Last year Chris, who has been at Liverpool FC for seven seasons, raised money for the same centre which was chosen because it was the place where his friend Gary Ablett was receiving treatment for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Gary died during the night of January 1, 2012 and since then Chris's father has been diagnosed with the same condition and is receiving treatment at The Christie.
Earlier this week Chris auctioned a selection of one-off collectables including a home Liverpool FC jersey signed and worn by Steven Gerrard in the FA Cup win over Manchester United in January 2012.
So far he has raised just under £25,000, which takes his total for the two years close to £50,000. And with your help, Chris is aiming to surpass the £50,000 marker.
"I've auctioned off a few shirts and pushed for sponsorship through twitter and have so far managed to raise close to £25,000. I'm aiming to get to £27,000 to take the total in two years to £50,000.
"The Christie is a fantastic Cancer specialist research hospital where both Gary Ablett and, more recently, my Dad received treatment for Lymphoma. My dad's treatment is on-going."
