Luis Suarez was on target for Uruguay last night in their international friendly against Russia - Liverpool's No.7 netted a fine opener at the Lokomotiv Stadium.

It was Suarez's 27th goal for his country but the forward could not prevent the friendly ending in a 1-1 draw.

Suarez lead the line alongside Edinson Cavani and Diego Forlan and Liverpool's No.7 fired the visitors ahead on 48 minutes after dribbling past Yuri Zhikov and Sergei Ignashevich to fire past Igor Akinfeev for 1-0.

However, a minute later, the Uruguayan's strike was cancelled out by a goal from Zenit St Petersburg forward Alexander Kerzhakov.

Suarez was lively all game and showed flashes of brilliance throughout, particularly in the 21st minute when he exchanged passes with Alvaro Periera and skipped past a defender with a fine piece of skill.

Meanwhile Liverpool's Jack Robinson played the full 90 minutes as England U19s thrashed Slovenia 5-0 at Deepdale.
