LFC's Most Exciting PL Games No.59: August 19, 1996. Liverpool 2-0 Arsenal.

Roy Evans Liverpool got their first league victory of the season in style with a 2-0 win over Arsenal.

Steve McManaman was the star of the show with two second half efforts in the space of six minutes.

His first effort took a deflection off Steve Bould but there was no doubting the quality of the second as he waltzed through the Arsenal defence to score.

After the opening day 3-3 draw at the Riverside, questions were being asked about Liverpool's defensive deficiencies so a clean sheet against the Gunners was certainly most welcome.

Each weeknight during the summer we'll reveal four more from our countdown from 6pm BST on LFC TV. 11-minute highlights will then be available on LFC TV Online the following morning. LFC TV is available FREE to view on SKY channel 434 and Virgin channel 544 (as part of the XL pack).
