Anfield waved goodbye to one of its finest ever servants Sami Hyypia, as Liverpool beat Spurs 3-1 on the final day of the 2008-09 season.

Rafael Benitez's side had fought hard for the title but had to settle for a second-placed finish.

Fernando Torres netted the opener just past the half hour mark and an Alan Hutton own goal doubled the lead.

A returning Robbie Keane, who had started the season as the Kop No.7, then pulled one back and received applause from the whole of Anfield when he refused to celebrate against his former club.

Yossi Benayoun made it 3-1 before Benitez gave in to a demanding Kop by sending on Hyypia in the 84th minute and the reception almost blew the roof off Anfield.

The big Finn nearly scored and was in tears when he and the team did their final game of the season parade.

Each weeknight during the summer we'll reveal four more from our countdown from 6pm BST on LFC TV. 11-minute highlights will then be available on LFC TV Online the following morning. LFC TV is available FREE to view on SKY channel 434 and Virgin channel 544 (as part of the XL pack).
