Liverpool Football Club today celebrates its 120th birthday.

Liverpool FC was formed by John Houlding as his house in Anfield Road. Houlding and his closest friends left from Everton FC, formed a new club. William.E.Barclay, a great football enthusiast, strongly suggested that they should go on with a new name: Liverpool.

It was on June 3, 1892, that the name Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Ltd was formally recognised by the Board of Trade, and the club could start to make history.
