Liverpool produced an inspired second-half display as they came back from 2-0 down to beat Newcastle United at Anfield.
Trailing to goals from Nolberto Solano and Andreas Andersson, it looked like a bleak end to 1998 for Gerard Houllier's side, but with Michael Owen unstoppable up front the Reds roared back.
Owen gave the Reds hope after 67 minutes and four minutes later Karl-Heinz Riedle equalised.
Liverpool's No.10 then made it 3-2 before Riedle made sure of the three points with a fourth at the Kop end.
