Day 4: LFC TV at Euro 2012
LFC TV's Matt Critchley brings us the latest news from Euro 2012 - including an unscheduled meeting with the Polish police.
Day 3 of the European Championships was a mixed one for me. I spent half of it taking in a game that featured some of the greatest players in the world. I spent the other half in a Polish police station.
I was in Gdansk for the Group C clash between Spain and Italy and as entertaining as it was, my mind was elsewhere. Unfortunately my bag was stolen from a restaurant in the city centre earlier in the day, my passport and laptop being two of the main casualties.
This blog will now come via my iPhone. It may take just a little longer to type.
Still, let's not dwell on the negatives, a trip to the British Embassy lies in store today and that should sort out my problems. Ireland, on the other hand, have real things to worry about.
Defeat to Croatia means that, realistically, they probably need to take points off Spain and Italy to qualify. Good luck with that Giovanni.
Spain were far from their best against the Italians but you could see that they grew into the game the more it went on. I think everybody in the stadium was surprised by the starting line-up but having no 'recognised' striker has not done Barca any harm in recent years. Spain will still qualify for the quarter finals.
Of course I had to run into a Liverpool fan at Spain v Italy, and not just any Liverpool fan. This one is carrying a banner around Poland with him - top effort young man.
So it's a flight back to Warsaw, a trip to the British Embassy and a night in front of the TV watching England v France for me today.
Just as long as I don't spend any more time with the local Policji, I'll be a happy man.
