Fernando Torres had the first and last word in a thrilling encounter against West Ham.
The last time Liverpool went to Upton Park they were a goal to the good within 72 seconds when Steven Gerrard set the ball rolling for an emphatic 3-0 win.
This time they had to wait slightly longer but Torres fired the Reds into the lead at a ground where Rafael Benitez had won four out of five. Alessandro Diamanti levelled for Gianfranco Zola's side on 29 minutes but Dirk Kuyt soon edged the visitors in front again.
On the stroke of half-time Carlton Cole equalised for the Hammers. However, a fine header from Liverpool's Spanish forward clinched the three points for Benitez's men.
