Most Exciting PL Games: 8
Next up in our countdown is a comeback against Manchester United at Anfield.
LFC's Most Exciting PL Games No.8: January 4, 1994. Liverpool 3-3 Manchester United.
United broke the deadlock at Anfield on eight minutes. The Reds thought they had cleared their lines from a corner; however, Eric Cantona was lurking to gather possession and clip a perfectly-weighted ball between the Liverpool defensive ranks for Steve Bruce to nod home.
Ryan Giggs stunned Anfield ten minutes later when he stole away from Mark Wright and dinked a left-footed lob over Bruce Grobbelaar to double United's advantage.
Liverpool looked dead and buried after just 23 minutes when Denis Irwin swerved a free-kick into the top left corner of Grobbelaar's net for 3-0.
Nigel Clough gave the home side a glimmer of hope when he rifled a low strike past Peter Schmeichel from 30 yards out two minutes later.
Then Wright's forward pass rebounded into the path of Clough and he was composed enough to send the 'keeper the wrong way as he tucked the ball into the corner of the Kop net.
And with just over 10 minutes remaining, Stig Inge Bjornebye whipped a pin-point cross into the United penalty area and Neil Ruddock raced onto his pass to power the ball past Schmeichel and draw the game level.
