It's that time of year again when the rumour mill goes into overdrive. Here we take a look at who the Friday papers claim Liverpool are interested in signing.

According to TalkSPORT, Liverpool and Tottenham are to set to fight it out with Serie A giants Inter Milan and Fiorentina to secure the signing of France U21 international Mbaye Niang.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail reports that we are poised to make a bid for Italy youngster Fabio Borini.

The striker has been on loan at Roma but, according to the Mail, their option to buy him for £7million ends today.

The Daily Mirror is also linking Liverpool with a move for Borini, who worked with Brendan Rodgers at Chelsea and Swansea.

The red top describes the 21-yerar-old as the 'Italian Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain' - and apparently he is not the only new face who'll soon be arriving at Anfield.

The Mirror believes Gylfi Sigurdsson will soon become our first summer signing, with the Hoffenheim star's transfer apparently 'close'.
