Craig Bellamy has admitted he is relishing the prospect of representing Team GB in the Olympics and declared he is feeling on top form.

The Welsh international is Liverpool's only representative in Stuart Pearce's squad and they face a friendly with Brazil on Friday ahead of the opening match with Senegal on July 26.

Team GB face three games in six days when the Games get underway - but Liverpool's No.39 insists he can cope with the physical demands.

"I am probably physically in the best shape I have been involved in," said Bellamy.

"I have felt refreshed and have felt great over the last few weeks.

"Coming into this has come at the right time and I feel the most balanced and fit I have been for quite a few years.

"I will be fine and I proved with Cardiff a couple of seasons ago that I could playing a couple of games in a week.

"I was more involved with one game at a time with Liverpool."

Bellamy and the squad spent a night in the Olympic Village when they were given a talk by  by double gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes.

He added: "We had the privilege of meeting Dame Kelly Holmes and she gave us a chat about what to expect and looking forward to the Olympics.

"She told us to enjoy the experience and her knowledge of this environment is amazing.

"It is new to us and it has been such an immense experience so far.

"I never thought I would be involved in anything like this and I want to enjoy this for the rest of my life.

"We had a great week in Spain and training has been brilliant, all the guys have really got on.

"It is such a short space of time before the first game, we needed to gel and we have."

The opening ceremony is on July 27 and Pearce has told the players it will be their choice whether to attend it with the event coming in between the other two group games.

"I would love to be involved but I will have to see how I feel after the Senegal game," added Bellamy.

"I have to be conscious there is a game a couple of days later, so if I feel a little bit worse for wear I won't be going.

"But if I feel good it is something I would love to be involved in."
