Lucas delight at Reds return
Lucas Leiva returned to action for Liverpool against Toronto at the Rogers Stadium on Saturday night and the midfielder took to Twitter after the 1-1 draw to express his delight at being back in a red shirt.
The Brazilian was introduced in the 74th minute as the Reds recovered from falling a goal behind to clinch a draw with the Major League Soccer side, who took the lead through Quincy Amarikwa but were pegged back by Adam Morgan.
And for Lucas, who played his first minutes since sustaining a knee injury at Stamford Bridge in November 2011, it was a joy to be back on the field as a Liverpool player.
The 25-year-old thanked fans for their support when he Tweeted to over 500,000 followers after the game:
Very happy to be back playing with the RED shirt. Thank you for your support again. I will keep working hard to improve and back to my best
