There was fantastic scenes of joy and triumph in London when Liverpool fan and cyclist Bradley Wiggins won the gold medal in the men's time trial.

After becoming the first British winner of the Tour de France last month, he cycled his way to glory in the Olympic Games and wrote himself into the record books.

Wiggins won a magnificent seventh Olympic Games medal which includes four golds, a silver and two bronzes - which is a British record.

He recorded a time of 50 minutes 39 seconds for the 44km course, finishing ahead of Germany's world champion Tony Martin, with his Team GB teammate Chris Froome taking the bronze medal.

Everyone at Liverpool would like to congratulate Bradley on another fantastic achievement.
