There were mixed emotions for two Kop heroes on Wednesday night when Craig Bellamy inspired Team GB to a 1-0 win over Luis Suarez's Uruguay in the Olympic Games.

The result means Bellamy marches on to the quarter-finals while Uruguay crash out of the tournament.

Bellamy captained the Team GB side and was in fantastic form down the right wing before he left the field to a standing ovation from the Cardiff crowd after 77 minutes.

Daniel Strurridge scored the only goal of the game for Stuart Pearce's side at the Millennium Stadium.

Suarez and Sebastian Coates played the full 90 minutes for Uruguay and Liverpool's No.7 was luckless in front of goal as he was twice denied by brilliant saves from Jack Butland in the second half.

Team GB now face South Korea in the quarter-final in Cardiff on Saturday.
