Morgan: My Anfield dream
He may have already found the back of the net for the first team in recent weeks, but Adam Morgan has revealed why scoring a goal at Anfield would be everything he's ever dreamed of.
The Academy hopeful has already achieved that aim with the Youth Cup side and reserve team, but to do it in front of a packed home crowd for the first team would be a moment to cherish.
Morgan was included in the senior squad for last week's trip to Belarus ahead of the first leg in Gomel and despite not making the bench, it was an experience he will never forget.
With tonight's second leg and Sunday's friendly with Leverkusen on the horizon, the young Scouser is hoping to get a chance to pull on the first-team jersey on the hallowed turf.
"Any time when you play at Anfield, it doesn't matter what game it is, it is special," Morgan told Liverpoolfc.com.
"To score for the first team at Anfield would be everything I have every dreamed of. It means everything to the young local lads to play for the first team. Gerrard and Carragher have done it, Jay Spearing got his chance and Flanno (Jon Flanagan) and Robbo (Jack Robinson) as well.
"We have some great strikers at the club. I look at Luis Suarez, Andy Carroll and Fabio Borini for tips. I watch them in training and they perform bits of class which you can only admire.
"I want to do well for this football club, whether it's for the U21s or the first team. I'll always give 100 per cent.
"It was great for me to travel with the first-team squad in Europe to Belarus. I've been to away matches as a fan, so to be with the lads on the coach and train with them at the stadium was one of the best experiences ever. Hopefully I can do it again.
"I've seen so many lads come through the Academy and not make a first-team appearance, so to make one would make my day."
Morgan is on the crest of a wave at the moment after he was included in the first-team squad for the tour of North America.
"It was a really good experience and I enjoyed it," he added.
"It all came about when I went back into training with the reserves and I was told I would be training with the first team. That was great and then the gaffer said a few of us would be going to America, and fortunately for me I was lucky enough to get the call."
His first-team debut - albeit non-competitive - is a memory he will never forget when he netted against Toronto to earn Liverpool a 1-1 draw in their first ever game under the managerial reign of Brendan Rodgers.
He said: "It's hard to explain but it was one of the best feelings I've ever had. It might have been a yard tap-in but that didn't matter to me. I think you could see by my celebration just how much it did mean to me. Even if it was only a friendly, the goal really did mean the world to me.
"It has been hard going from being a young cheeky lad, which is what I used to be, but I feel like I've grown up a lot now.
"Being up here at Melwood with the first team has helped me grow up that little bit more, which is what I needed, and being around the players who play in my position is just great to be able to learn from them."
Morgan also spoke of his gratitude to Rodgers for the faith the boss has shown in him.
He added: "I've spoken with the gaffer quite a bit. He's told me how he wants me to play. He said he knows I can score goals but he wants me to work hard off the ball and improve my link-up play which I'm working on.
"He's a really nice man and I knew from day one he was going to be a good manager for us.
"He's got a good philosophy and he wants Liverpool to play good football. When I was growing up, that's what Liverpool were known for - playing good football. I think his style of football will work and we should have a successful season. Hopefully it will be a successful era under the gaffer."
