One of the Kop's favourite sons is about to take to the skies in an attempt to raise funds for a children's charity.

John Aldridge is taking part in a skydive on Sunday to raise money for Radio City's Cash for Kids and The OK Foundation.

The Republic of Ireland hero is joining former Everton midfielder Joe Parkinson in making a sponsored 14,000 feet free-fall parachute jump.

The skydive is taking place at the Black Knights parachute centre in Lancaster and you can help Aldo by sponsoring him.

"The work both charities do is amazing," said Aldo, who is patron of The OK Foundation.

"Cash for Kids help improve the quality of lives for children across the Merseyside region and The OK Foundation was set up in memory of Oliver King, a 12-year-old who sadly passed away because of SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome) caused by heart rhythm abnormalities.

"The aim of The Ok Foundation is to try and raise awareness about the medical condition.

"I'm looking forward to the skydive and it will be a great experience."
