Jonjo joins kids at Equality 4 All
Jonjo Shelvey took time out from preparing for the start of the new Barclays Premier League season to help the LFC Foundation coach local youngsters at Wavertree Sports Park.
The rain may have poured down on Wednesday afternoon but Shelvey was undeterred as he joined in with the children's target practice before getting involved in a small tournament.
Over 200 children, aged eight to 19, took part in the Equality 4 All camps, which aim to bring children from a range of backgrounds together through football, during Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of last week.
And on Wednesday, Shelvey signed autographs for the youngsters and told Liverpoolfc.com: "The kids have been great today and it was good to see them enjoying their football and having fun."
Liverpool FC Social Inclusion Officer Rishi Jain added: "The children were over the moon when Jonjo turned up and everyone wanted to be on his side during the tournament.
"Our camps are aimed at bringing people together and we're delighted Jonjo was able to give up his time and join in with the coaching session.
"Having a high profile, first-team player get involved in events like this will go to great lengths in improving the work we do as part of the LFC Foundation."
