Ladies suffer late defeat
A goal 15 minutes from time saw Liverpool FC Ladies lose 1-0 at Bristol Academy on Saturday in the resumption of the Women's Super League.
It was the first game under new manager Matt Beard and the ladies competed well against the high flying Bristol side.
Reds goalkeeper Nicky Davies was in inspired form and made a string of superb saves before Bristol's late goal secured the points.
Beard told Liverpoolfc.com: "The players have been fantastic since I came in and their attitude and application was very good.
"Bristol are a very good side but we competed well against them. We conceded a bad goal and also rode our luck at times but there was lots of positives for me to take going forward."
