Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and Martin Kelly could all make their 50th appearance for Liverpool in tonight's clash with Hearts. Here are all the pre-match stats from Ged Rea.

Liverpool's European record (overall): Pld 330, won 187, drawn 72, Lost 71.

Liverpool's record in Fairs/UEFA Cup/Europa League: Pld 119, won 66, drawn 29, lost 24.

This will be the first time that Liverpool and Hearts have met competitively though they have met six times in friendlies - the last in February 1929.

Hearts will be the 115th different European opponent for the Reds and the fourth from Scotland following Celtic (three times), Hibernian (twice) and Aberdeen.

On five of the previous six occasions Liverpool have met teams from north of the border, the Reds have progressed - the blot on the copybook being the 3-1 aggregate defeat to Celtic in the UEFA Cup clash in 2003. The Glaswegians won 2-0 in the second leg at Anfield.

On visits to Scotland in European games, Liverpool have won two, drawn two and lost two.

Only Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher of the current squad have faced Scottish opponents in Europe while at Anfield.

No team has scored more than one goal in a European game against Liverpool in the last 19 matches since Benfica scored twice in April 2010.

The Reds have conceded just five goals in their last 16 European games home and away.

In that time they have lost just once - the 1-0 defeat in Braga.

Liverpool's win at Gomel in the last round was their first away from home in six European games.

The only Liverpool player to score a hat-trick against Scottish opponents is John Toshack who netted all three goals in the win over Hearts' Edinburgh rivals Hibernian in the UEFA Cup in September 1975.

The Reds need four goals to record 200 in this competition since they first took part in 1967-68.

The last Liverpool player to score an away European hat-trick was Michael Owen in Moscow against Spartak in October 2002.

Brendan Rodgers could win his first three games in Europe as Liverpool manager - a feat only achieved previously by Bill Shankly and Roy Hodgson.

Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing and Martin Kelly could all play their 50th game for Liverpool in all competitions.

Hearts' European record (overall): Pld 74, won 28, drawn 16, lost 30.

Hearts' record in Fairs/UEFA Cup/Europa League: Pld 56, won 23, drawn 12, lost 21.

This is Hearts' 22nd European campaign and their 16th in this competition in its various guises.

Last season in the SPL they finished in fifth place - 41 points behind winners Celtic but were rewarded with victory in the FA Cup final beating city rivals Hibernian 5-1.

That was their eighth success in the Scottish Cup and they have also lifted the League Cup four times.

They have been champions of the top-flight four times - the last coming in 1959-60.

Hearts have been runners-up in the SPL four times - 1985-86, 1987-88, 1991-92 and 2005-06.

They have faced an English club only once before in Europe - last season at this stage of the Europa League they lost 5-0 on aggregate to Tottenham with all the goals coming in the first leg at Tynecastle. Hearts found themselves three goals down inside 30 minutes. That defeat is their biggest ever loss in Europe.

Hearts first appeared in Europe in 1958-59 when they participated in the European Cup - six seasons before Liverpool gained entry.

Their best ever European season came in 1988-89 when they reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup losing 2-1 to Bayern Munich.

Hearts have made an unbeaten start to their SPL campaign having beaten St Johnstone 2-0 at home, followed by 1-1 draws in the Edinburgh derby with Hibernian and last Saturday drew 2-2 at Tynecastle with Inverness after leading 2-0 and playing against 10-men for the whole of the second half.

Defender Andy Webster had a brief spell in the Premier League with Wigan in 2006-07.

Striker John Sutton is the younger brother of former Norwich and Chelsea striker Chris Sutton. His two goals this season have both come from the penalty spot.

Rudi Skacel has been capped seven times by Czech Republic.

Manager John McGlynn was appointed at the end of June - having taken over from Paulo Sergio.

Scorers this season (Europe in brackets):

Liverpool: Borini 1 (1), Downing 1 (1), Gerrard 1 (1), Johnson 1 (1).

Hearts: Sutton 2 (0), Driver 1 (0), Novikovas 1 (0), Templeton 1 (0).
