Money man's inside account of LFC
Before retiring in 2007, Liverpool's former chief accountant Arthur Lowe spent nearly three decades at the very heart of one of the world's greatest football clubs.
He was privy to some of its best-kept secrets and personally acquainted with some of its most famous figures, working closely with the likes of Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley and Kenny Dalglish.
And now Arthur has decided the time is right to share some of his most cherished memories and unique insights with Reds fans all over the world in his new book, 'The Man with the Keys to the Bank of Anfield'.
From the early days of chauffeuring Shankly around the city to his twice-weekly coffee chats with Gerard Houllier, who wrote the foreword to the new book, Arthur's finger was firmly on the Anfield pulse for the best part of 30 years.
Readers of his book will be able to delve into the day-to-day running of the club and see it through the eyes of the man who oversaw every transfer from Bruce Grobbelaar in 1981 to Fernando Torres in 2007.
Anecdotes such as the ones that reveal Rafael Benitez's love for The Beatles go hand-in-hand with more pressing discussions of issues from the club's recent past.
"He became a trusted ally and tremendous asset in assisting me in my job," said Houllier. "This is his own personal insight into what happens inside this great club."
