Rodgers hints at strong line-up
Brendan Rodgers has hinted he will field a strong line-up when Hearts visit Anfield for the second leg of their Europa League play-off on Thursday.
The Reds prevailed 1-0 in Edinburgh last week without senior stars such as Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson and Martin Skrtel.
Though not drawn on names, Rodgers has indicated that some of those absent a week ago will be in the squad.
"I will be going with a strong team against Hearts," he said. "I took the opportunity last week to recuperate a few players - some of whom had a long summer playing in other competitions.
"Some of those who weren't involved in the first leg will be part of the squad for this game.
"I think it's easier when you have two home games in a row. With the travel last week and the recovery process I had to make changes."
Two players who will not be involved are new signings Nuri Sahin and Oussama Assaidi, both of whom are ineligible until the group stages.
