Reds to open family zones
Liverpool have announced the new Family Park and Zone will launch at Anfield this Sunday prior to our Barclays Premier League match against Arsenal.
The Family Park will be open from 10.30am, with the official launch taking place at 12.30pm.
The Park, which is located next to the Food Village just off Anfield Road, will be opened by LFC Supporters' Committee representative, Janet Brown OBE, and the club's operations director, Andrew Parkinson. LFC mascot Mighty Red will also be there to entertain the kids.
Meanwhile, some of the Reds' Academy starlets will be on hand for children to test the power of their shot against professional footballers in the speed cage section of the Park.
The Family Park will be free for families, pre-match, who have a matchday ticket, and will have a range of entertainment to keep youngsters occupied. This includes a speed cage, a target cage and an inflatable five-a-side pitch.
The Family Zone will be a designated family-friendly area located within the Anfield Road upper tier on matchdays. The adult and child section aims to engage, interact and share the history of the club with families while ensuring their matchday experience is one to remember.
Parkinson said: "Fans tell us that they feel part of a 'big family' when they follow Liverpool nationally and internationally.
"Families are an important part of our club and we are committed to making their matchday experience second to none at Anfield. We have, therefore, invested in the new Family Zone and Family Park areas at Anfield to provide some great entertainment pre-match, which we think will improve the overall matchday experience for families.
"We look forward to welcoming both new and existing families with a matchday ticket to the Family Park and Family Zone where they can enjoy the sociable atmosphere and wonderful entertainment provided on every matchday at Anfield."
Brown added: "This is a great step forward for the club. It's fantastic Liverpool FC recognises that families and children are important and are investing in providing a fun, safe and secure matchday experience and entertainment.
"I look forward to the launch on Sunday and making regular visits to the Family Park throughout the season and urge all supporters with families to do the same."
