Daniel Agger, Martin Skrtel, Glen Johnson, Steven Gerrard and Nuri Sahin were all in World Cup 2014 qualifying action this weekend.

Skrtel helped Slovakia to a 1-1 draw away to Lithuania, while Nuri Sahin entered the game on 60 minutes as Turkey were beaten 2-0 in Holland thanks to Robin van Persie and Luciano Narsingh strikes.

Johnson played the entire 90 minutes as England ran out 5-0 winners in Moldova, while skipper Steven Gerrard was withdrawn at half-time. The scorers for England were Frank Lampard (2), Jermain Defoe, James Milner and Leighton Baines.

Fabio Borini was an unused sub in Italy's 2-2 against Bulgaria, while Joe Allen reportedly missed Wales's 2-0 defeat to Belgium through illness.

Daniel Agger, meanwhile, played 90 minutes to help Denmark see out a goalless draw with Czech Republic.

Elsewhere, neither the suspended Luis Suarez nor Sebastian Coates featured for Uruguay in their 4-0 defeat to Colombia. Pepe Reina also watched from the sidelines as Spain beat Saudi Arabia 5-0 in a friendly.
