Steven Gerrard allayed any concerns over his fitness after being withdrawn at half-time during England's 5-0 win over Moldova on Friday night.

Manager Roy Hodgson replaced his skipper at the interval, but it was merely a precaution ahead of another World Cup qualifier against Ukraine on Tuesday.

"There are no problems at all, I'm fit and fine," Gerrard said.

Meanwhile, Joe Allen missed Wales' 2-0 defeat to Belgium through illness.

Welsh boss Chris Coleman explained: "It was a bitter blow to find out we wouldn't have him.

"He had a temperature and sickness and we will see in the next 24 to 48 hours how he comes through it.

"With our strongest XI it would have been a tough game - and when you take half a dozen players out, lose Joe Allen eight hours before the game and you go down to 10 men, then you've got a mountain to climb."
