Brendan Rodgers is still to notch his first Premier League win as Liverpool manager, but he's happy with how his players are progressing.

Despite going 1-0 down against Sunderland, the Reds were unlucky not to come away from the Stadium of Light with all three points on Saturday.

The second-half performance was particularly good with Glen Johnson and Steven Gerrard both hitting the woodwork. The build-up play and work rate was good throughout the team and the manager has plenty of reasons to feel positive about Sunday's visit of Manchester United.

In their last five visits to Anfield, United have lost four times and drawn once. With that record in mind Liverpool are well priced at 15/8 to win with Paddy Power.

Of those five games, LFC managed to keep a clean sheet just once. In fact in the last 10 meetings between the clubs we have seen just two clean sheets. It's fair to expect there to be goals from both sides in this game. Both teams to score is odds-on at 4/6.

Seven of the last 11 games they've played have landed on the two or three goals selection which is a solid evens bet with Paddy Power this Sunday. Four or more goals offers a greater profit at 9/4.

Steven Gerrard is yet to score in the league this season but has come close on more than one occasion. He has notched a total of six goals against Manchester United over his career, including the opening goal in last season's Barclays Premier League meeting at Anfield. Gerrard is 9/1 to score first and 16/5 to score anytime.

Luis Suarez has two goals in four league games and is understandably the favourite home player to score first at 13/2 with Paddy Power.

Raheem Sterling has been receiving a lot of deserved plaudits for his performances so far this season and the 17-year old certainly has the ability and belief to make an impact in this game. At 9/2 to score anytime he'll be an Anfield hero if he does.

This is a big game for both sides and while it will be a hard-fought contest it's one Liverpool will be going out to win. At 15/8 they are well worth backing to do just that.
